I’ve reduced frequency of my publications these days, for two reasons.

First, I’m re-writing the DNA-Framework, I don’t know yet what will come out of it, probably something big I’m not sure yet if it will be released as OpenSource framework or not. I’ll decide that when version 1.0 will be ready.

And the other thing is I’m completly rewriting ZdStats with better spam detection and much more realistic filters. Even though I know that my filters are more permissive than google’s, my stats are also much more realistic. Why is that ? Simply because I don’t rely on javascript only, therefore I also count users that come to your website with javascript disabled (or google filtered)

Here it is, the brand new version of ZdStats (version 1.1.2). You can download it on this site and also on wordpress.org.

Changelog:

Added default options, when installing the plugin, you won’t have to put the filters yourself, they will be automatically added (if not present).
Better date calculation, it’s now PHP4 compatible
Monthly Average (projection made according to the period you selected).
When you do an upgrade, GeoLiteCity.dat will be erased, if so, the plugin will alert you to download one (if you need this functionnality). It will tell you where to get it and where to put it.
Links to IP history navigation anywhere an IP adress is displayed.
Detail of a pageview anywhere a time & date is displayed.
Google Maps integration (via links) for each geolocalisation. This will allow you to discover new places

Ok, here is another update of the ZdStats plugin, now when you activate it for the first time, it will also install the correct options so that it can work directly out of the box.

After publishing version 1.0 yesterday night, here comes version 1.1 of ZdStats.

Changelog :

Addition of an entry deletion directly from the hour summary view
Addition of IP deletion. This will delete all visits from a specific IP adress.

Of course, the package is upto date on the Documentation page.

These two new function will allow you to delete spammer visits without overloading your filters, because most of the time spammers won’t come back using the same IP.
