Slant Six Games' new website
Well, as you might have seen, I’ve been away from this blog for quite a while. In fact I’ve been working for a great company, Slant Six Games, to create their new website.
This is no secret, it is a WordPress powered website, thus giving Slant Six Games the power to use it as a corporate website, and as a blog at the same time.
This was the challenge, while having dynamic pages, we wanted to have static pages and a blog as well. The graphics, layout and wireframes was built by Karyo Edelman and it was integrated and developed by myself. (more…)
And it has finally arrived
As I said yesterday, Something big was prepared for this blog, and here it is, a new design.
This new design doesn’t only include a new layout, but also this brand new logo, a favicon and a real good looking design.
Why did I say something big ? Simply because I didn’t like previous one, in fact I realised that if I had to fall on a blog like the one I had before, i wasn’t sure I would have subscribed as it was nice to look at but hard to read.
My inspiration
First I would like to say that this new design is inspired from one of the most beautifull webdesign to me and also a great source for designers. To me this is a not a copy or a rip, it’s more something like a tribute to SmashingMagazine.
I was also inspired by the wordpress theme Coda, that uses a lot Mootools for effects, such as the one you can see on the right top sidebar.
And finally, I use Oxygen icons for most images you’ll find here. Simply because these are probably the most beautifull icons available for an Operating System environment.
The about section is inspired by what we can see on ProBlogger and introductory text was corrected by my lovely wife.
Final words
I just hope you will enjoy this design as much as I do, and do not hesitate to leave comments about what you think of my new design.

New theme
As I promised earlier, here is my brand new WordPress Theme. This one suits me better.
This theme is working perfectly on Firefox and quite well on Internet Explorer (except for PNG transparency)
One of the funny things with this theme is that it changes depending on the time of your visit (There are three states, night, day, and morning/evening)
The sidebar is now less cluttered than previous one and Tags will be available during searches and wrong pages.
Third wordpress theme
And here is my Third theme, this ons was made for me. Still based on Sandbox, i wanted this theme fresh and clean. At first I was creating a theme looking like a zen garden, but I thought it was not fitting the subject of my blog. So here it is, what do you think ?

WordPress, new theme
After creating the Stars and Grass theme, and after showing my capacity to create themes for wordpress that may fit some users need, I was asked by Nolwenn from Abc-Cooking to create a theme based on cooking for her Cooking blog. This is now done with her new theme based on Sandbox. This is a 3 column theme with two sidebars, on the left and on the right of the main column. Of course, they are widget ready.
This theme, like Stars and Grass is completly french/english bilingual as Abc-Cooking is a french blog opening an english version soon.
You can see the new theme in action on Abc-Cooking.
Of course, this theme is not available for download as it was made only for Abc-Cooking, but you may ask the owner for permission to have it.
